Shannon Frymark, Au.D.
Audiologist, Owner
Shannon was born in Florida and grew up in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro with both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees before attending Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology where she graduated with her clinical doctorate.
The majority of Shannon’s work day revolves around seeing patients and caring for each one’s unique hearing needs. She works with patients of all ages. Some patients may have a hearing loss while others struggle with tinnitus. They may wear hearing aids or have a cochlear implant – or both! Additionally, some patients have assistive listening devices that take their hearing system to the next level. Needless to say, no appointment is ever like the previous one.
Shannon also works with her staff on a regular basis and manages the daily operations. She is grateful to have such a wonderful team, as they are a joy to work with.
The variety of Shannon’s responsibilities energizes her and she loves every moment of it. At times, the scope of what she’s accomplished seems surreal. She says, “I never dreamed of working in private practice let alone own a private practice.”
While she thoroughly enjoys providing direct patient care, working with the support team to learn how to best reach out to the local community is equally rewarding. Nurturing not only her patients but also her staff is an important part of her work ethos.
After caring for so many patients during her career, it is a challenge to pinpoint one specific favorite moment. However, Shannon is passionate about welcoming new patients and helping them feel at ease with their hearing care.
She explains that there are quite a few patients who will transfer their hearing care to our office and find they feel “heard” here. They don’t feel rushed, and they know Aim Hearing & Audiology Services has their best interest at heart. Shannon is actively working to expand Aim Hearing’s collaborative care in the community so patients are set up for the greatest success.
Shannon’s passion for the field of audiology stems from personal experience. Born with a hearing loss in both ears, she has worn hearing aids since age 3. She is considered a technology expert because of her experience with so many different hearing aids and assistive listening devices throughout the years.
Shannon was recently honored with the prestigious Audigy Provider of Distinction Award, recognizing her exceptional growth and visionary leadership in the field of audiology.
This accolade underscores her commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and advancing the practice through innovative approaches.
When not in the office, Shannon loves spending time with her fur babies. She enjoys introducing her pups to various activities such as agility training. Shannon also likes to play cards (hand and foot is a fav!), take walks — especially night time star gazing – and share some quiet time with her family.
