Hear for the Holidays 2024

Hear for the Holidays 2024 – And the Winners Are…

by | Mar 3, 2025 | Hear for the Holidays, Patient Resources

For the past few years, we’ve been delighted to run our Hear for the Holidays giveaway, where deserving winners get a complimentary hearing test and hearing aids to help them hear the life they love in time for the festive season.

The holidays are meant to be a time of rest and relaxation and time for connecting with our loved ones and feeling grateful for what we have. Untreated hearing loss can lead to a rift in communications that can make busy family gatherings stressful and isolating for some individuals.

That’s why we run our holiday giveaway each year, to give some deserving people the chance to reconnect with their loved ones and rejoin the conversations they’ve been missing out on.

We had so many incredible nominations this year – reading your stories is the best part of this giveaway! It was difficult to pick just two winners, but when we read their nominations, we knew they were the perfect people for our Hear for the Holidays winners.

Our winners are David Rinehuls and Charlie Brown!

David was fitted for his new hearing aids by Dr. Elizabeth after a heartfelt nomination from his wife, Fran.

David and Fran have had a tough few years, including loss of passion in his music production, recovering from a stroke, art shows being put on hold due to broken kilns, and the loss of three of their feline friends.

With so much loss, Fran hoped that with hearing aids, she could engage in conversation with her best friend and partner of 40 years, keeping him safe and happy.

Their story touched our hearts, and we knew that David had to be one of our two winners. The love between this husband-and-wife duo was palpable with Fran’s nomination.

We’re glad to report that Fran and David sent us a follow-up message to let us know how they’re doing with David’s new lease on life! Thank you very much for your kind words, and we’re grateful we had the chance to help them reconnect with the gift of better hearing.

Dr. Jenna fitted Charlie with his new hearing aids after we read an anonymous nomination that told the story of Mr. Brown and his wife, who both dealt with hearing challenges.

Charlie had been struggling with older hearing aids that weren’t quite hitting the mark, and the anonymous nominee hoped that with new technology, their friend could thrive and return to hearing his busy life.

Charlie was thoroughly surprised and excited to find out he was one of our winners – but apparently, he’s a pretty lucky guy who’s won a couple random competitions before!

At the time of his fitting, he was looking forward to being able to hear better and hoped that his new devices could help address some tinnitus symptoms.

Thank You for All Your Nominations!
