I am absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news with you all: My second article for HearingLoss.com is now live on their website!

Following my recent addition to their team of expert contributors, I am honored to continue working alongside a platform that is so deeply dedicated to providing vital education, resources, and community support for those navigating hearing loss challenges.

Building on my first article about tinnitus, this latest article dives into a critical and time-sensitive medical emergency that everyone should have on their radar: “Sudden Hearing Loss in One Ear: Causes, Symptoms, and What to Do Next.”

Why This Topic Matters Now More Than Ever

Sudden hearing loss in one ear can be an incredibly terrifying experience. Unfortunately, many people mistake it for a simple earwax blockage or a stubborn sinus cold, and they end up waiting days or even weeks to see a doctor.

In my latest article, I break down exactly why time is of the essence when it comes to sudden sensorineural hearing loss, or SSHL.

Here’s a quick snapshot of what we dive into:

  • Recognizing the Red Flags: How to tell the difference between a minor ear issue and a true medical emergency.

  • The Critical Window: Why seeking medical evaluation within the first 24 to 72 hours is vital for the best chance of recovery.

  • Common Causes & Treatment: A look at what triggers sudden hearing loss and the standard treatments (like corticosteroids) that can help restore hearing.

My goal with every piece I write is to empower you with the knowledge you need to advocate for your own health or the health of a loved one. Hearing loss can feel isolating, but with the right resources and a supportive community, it doesn’t have to be.

I want to extend a massive thank-you to the team at HearingLoss.com for providing a platform where we can spread awareness and make a meaningful impact together.

Check out the full article and let me know your thoughts! If you’re struggling with sudden hearing challenges, be sure to get in touch with our team to address it as soon as possible. We’re here to help, every step of the way.
